     Social innovation is the  process of developing and implementing novel solutions to address social and environmental challenges. It encompasses a wide range of activities and initiatives, large and small aimed at improving societies, fostering positive change and sustainability, and enhancing the overall well-being of communities and the planet.

    Social innovation begins with identifying, understanding, and defining the issues and then applies novel creative strategies as solutions. On a micro level this may be applied to strategically develop new lines of business, re-energize current business, adapt to new ways of thinking, address plans for sustainability, scalability, and overall resilience for the social services agency. Social Innovation strategies are also  applied at the macro or community level addressing large scale social issues across stakeholders such as poverty, homelessness, healthcare disparities, education inequality, or access to clean water from a cross sector perspective. 

  Social innovators assess and measure the impact of their initiatives to ensure they are achieving their intended outcomes and making a difference in people's lives.
